Our motorcycle tour of Ladakh is an exciting and challenging adventure through the rugged Himalayan terrain. Starting and ending in the picturesque town of Leh, the tour takes riders through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the region, including the highest battle field Siachen Base Camp and the highest motorable pass, Umlingla.

The tour begins with a short ride to the iconic city of Leh, where riders will have the opportunity to explore the local culture and visit some of the famous monasteries in the area. From there, we will head out on the road and begin our journey through the rugged mountains, taking in the breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks and the vast expanses of the high-altitude desert.

As we make our way through the region, we will pass through some of the most remote and isolated villages in Ladakh, where we will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the local people and learn about their way of life. Along the way, we will also have the opportunity to stop and visit some of the famous Buddhist monasteries that dot the landscape, including the famous Hemis Monastery.

The highlight of the tour are the visit to the Siachen Base Camp and interact with the army and thank them for keeping us safe  and the 2nd highlight is the climb to the highest motorable pass, Umlingla, at an altitude of over 18,000 feet. The ride to the top is challenging and requires riders to have a good level of fitness and experience. However, the views from the top are truly breathtaking and make the effort well worth it.

Itinerary

Arrive in Leh and check-in to the hotel for some rest and acclimatization. Take it easy today and explore the local market in the evening. Drink as lots of water. Night Stay in Leh.

Today we embark on a tour of the Sham Valley.

We will take you for a ride on Srinagar-Leh highway where you can seek blessing of Guru Nanak Dev at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib , find the illusion of magnetic hill for yourself, witness the confluence of Indus and Zanskar (Sangam Point). Return to Leh city and Visit the Hall of Fame and then witness sunset from Shanti Stupa and amazing views of Leh city.

The journey is a scenic one, with breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range.

Finally the day has arrived to ride to one of the highest motor able road in the world. Yes the time has come to live the dream and nomads are at Khardung La (18380ft). Caravan moves ahead to what lies beyond and will reach nubra valley, another spectacle of nature. Desert, mountains, river all at same place and this is what makes nubra valley so special. Nomads can get face to face with Bactrian camels, friends of the earliest nomads. We will seek the blessing of Maitreya Buddha (100ft High) at Diskit Gompa the oldest & largest gompa in Nubra valley

Wake up and travel to Turtuk village. Turtuk is located on the banks of Shyok River. Turtuk was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area.The place is culturally, linguistically and historically different from what you’ve seen till now in your Ladakh trip as it falls under the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Even the landscape is different with dramatic narrow valleys and steep mountains, unlike Central Ladakh and Nubra.

Comparatively, situated at a lower altitude than Leh, you’ll see green pastures here that yield fresh produce like apricots and apples. Return to Hundar by evening.

A day dedicated to visiting the Siachen Base Camp, the world's highest battlefields. We visit the OP Baba Shrine and see the practice ground of the battle field. Interact with the army and thank them for keeping us safe.

The journey to the camp is smooth with beautiful tarmac and the views are truly unforgettable.
Return back to Sumur for a well-deserved rest.

Nomadic caravan will start its journey to Pangong Tso one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Today we will ride on the most remote route of the trip. With various water crossings, riding on dry riverbeds, smooth tarmac and roads which are virtually non- existent it is going to be one epic riding day. All our tiredness will go away on the view of majestic Pangong Tso. Camping beside the lake with only basic necessities will be a life time experience

Today we take the back roads from Pangong Lake to Hanle via Chusul. Along the way we stop at the Rezangla War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives during the 1962 Indo-China War and also stop for a photograph at the Tsaga La, a mountain pass located at 15260 ft.

Later, ride to Hanle, a small village in the remote part of Ladakh.
Overnight stay in Hanle.

A day dedicated to ride to the top of the World's Highest Motorable Pass, Umling La. The roads leading from Hanle to Nurbula (17328 ft) is a dirt track and then we get the butter smooth twisties to reach the Umling la top.

Later after returning back to Hanle we can visit the Hanle monastery and spend time amidst the breathtaking surroundings.

Today we make our way back to Leh, stopping at Nyoma for a tea break and Karu for lunch along the way.
The journey is scenic and offers beautiful views of the Himalayan mountain range.
Overnight stay in Leh.

Nomads will bid its final “Julley” to the land of Lama’s and travel to their further destinations. . It’s time for final chat with the fellow nomads and bid adieu to this trip. Saying goodbye is always hard but we promise we will meet back for more such journeys and living in your memories for life.

Due to bad weather, road closure, breakdown or any natural calamity or due to any social or political situation/unrest/strikes, sudden rule changes or shut down of Govt. offices,etc. Any additional expenses incurred due to the same would be borne by the participants.

Booking Policy

• Pay Booking amount of INR 10,000 as advance.
• Pay remaining amount 30 days before commencement of tour.

Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations made before 45 days prior to the trip will result in 70% refund.
• Cancellations made between 30-45 days prior to the trip will result in 50%refund.
• Cancellations made 30 days before the trip date will receive no refund.
• In case of double sharing bike i.e. 1 bike 2 rider option, if anyone of 2 cancels the trip due to any reason then the other one has to opt for solo ride package.
• Booking amount is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Change or Cancellation by XKMPH

We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes due to Force Majeure Events and we reserve the right to do so at any time before or during the trip. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date before or during the trip based on the Force Majeure Events. We also reserve the right under Force Majeure Events to cancel your travel arrangements / offer alternative dates / revise the itinerary before or during the trip. Any additional cost incurred due to the above mentioned reasons will have to be borne by the traveler himself. There shall be no refund to the traveler under Force Majeure Events. Force Majeure Event shall mean and include any circumstance beyond

the reasonable control of XKMPH, including without limitation, any act of nature or the public enemy, accident, explosion, fire, storm, earthquake, flood, drought, perils of the sea, casualty, strikes, lock- outs, labour troubles, riots, sabotage, terrorists acts, embargo, war (whether or not declared),pandemic, epidemic governmental actions, delay in issuance or processing of Visa/permit, change of laws and regulations, orders, or decrees, or other causes of like or different character, etc beyond the control of XKMPH.

If you want to make changes to your trip plan

After you make booking by paying full or partial amount, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by the traveler himself.

• Abide by the instructions given by the team leader.
• Do not encourage or take part in littering the vicinity in any form.
• Avoid roaming during the nights without the consent of the tour leaders/facilitators.
• Do not disturb the local environment or life in any form.
• Any external damage to the motorbike or the riding gears due to accident or fall of the motorbike rider is responsible and pay the compensation.
• Company is not responsible for the safety or the insurance (injury or death) claim of the rider or his/her associates in case of an accident. Rider and pillion themselves will be responsible for such cases.
• In case of any medical emergency or hospitalization the rider and pillion needs to pay for their treatments.
• All sightseeing is subject to weather conditions, political conditions in the destination.

What about mobile and internet access?

Yes Mobile network is available in most places and you can use your mainmobile number if it is a post paid connection. Preferred Network are Jio, Airtel and BSNL.

You may also get local SIM from Leh.

Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Ladakh specially in remote areas is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
